Alfa Romeo GT Veloce

GT Veloce

The GT Veloce’s last two years were 1973 and 1974. It was a small car, at 92.5 inches of wheelbase and 168 inches of overall length. It held 4 occupants in a 2-door coupe format like an American pony car would have. The curb weight was nowhere near an American counterpart though, at just about 2300lbs.

Under the hood was a 2.0L DOHC MFI I4. Horsepower was rated at 129, while torque was listed at 130. The block and cylinder head were both made out of aluminum. It was shifted by a 5-speed ZF manual, while the rear axle gearing was 4.56:1. Top speed was only about 110mph, presumably due to the ‘track-day’ axle ratio. The GT Veloce was replaced in 1975 by the Alfetta GT.
