BMW M1

BMW M1

It’s one of the most-wanted supercars of all time. BMW didn’t make too many either. The street version of the M1 was produced only as a way to keep the race version eligible for competition. 400 street copies had to be sold each year to remain racing.

It was configured as mid engine/ rear wheel drive. The engine itself was a 3.5L DOHC EFI I6. Horsepower was 277 and torque was 242. Zero to sixty took only 5.5 seconds, with a top speed of 162mph. A 5-speed manual was the only available transmission.

The M1 was sold from 1978-1981. It is quite a rarity to see on American shores. If you want one, no matter where in the world it is, be prepared to shell out a high amount.
