Midget
Hence its name, the Midget was the smallest car that MG offered during the SmogEra. Though it shared an 80 inch wheelbase with the MGB, the overall length was 138 inches. Width was only 55 inches. Powering it in 1973 was a 1275cc I4, which made horsepower in the 50-range.

The car was updated in 1974 for new crash requirements which gave it a different appearance after losing its chrome bumpers. also new was a 1493cc I4 which produced similar power as the smaller engine it replaced. It did, however, inherit more torque giving it improved acceleration. The final model year in the U.S. was 1980, but a relatively-few Midgets were titled as such.
