The car was substantially updated for 1977. As of this generation, the 301 CID 4bbl V8 was standard. Optionally were a 350 CID 4bbl V8, and 403 CID 4bbl V8. The final year for the Grand Safari was 1978, as the top wagon was simply called Bonneville Safari as of the next year.
