Horizon
The Horizon was introduced in 1978. It was the first front wheel drive subcompact in the U.S. Providing motivation was a 1.7L Volkswagen I4.
Chrysler’s own 2.2 L I4 was introduced as an option for 1981, presumably due to competition in the form of Ford’s Escort. The only major change during the smog-era was a 1.6L Simca I4 becoming the new base engine in 1983.
