Alfa Romeo GTV-6
The GTV-6 was new for 1981, evolving out of the Sprint Veloce and replacing it. It was the third and final name used on a series consisting of 4-seat fastbacks, which started with the Alfetta GT nameplate. Like the others, it was offered only as a 2-door. They all shared the same general appearance. The curb weight came in around 2825 lbs, with a wheelbase of 94.5 inches. Overall length was still around 171 inches. Sticker price for the GTV-6 was $16983.
Powering this little beast was a 2.5L SOHC EFI V6. The electronic fuel injection system came from Bosch. It made 154 horsepower and 152 lb/ft of torque. Backing the engine was a 5-speed ZF manual. Top speed provided by this combo was 125mph, and a 60mph blast took 8.5 seconds. Fuel mileage was great for the timeframe at 18mpg. The GTV-6 remained the same basic automobile through the end of the smog-era.
