Lynx
The Mercury Lynx was the sister car to the Ford Escort which also was introduced for 1981. From ’81-’82, the only engine you could get was a 1.6L I4.
In ’83, the 1.6L was still offered, but you could also get a 1.6L Turbocharged I4. The turbo 1.6 was rated at 120hp. Transmissions were a 4-speed stick, 5-speed stick, or 3-speed auto. Available body styles were a 3-door hatch, 5-door hatch or a station wagon. Lynx RS was the sporty trim level of this timeframe.
